Why do heat pumps need servicing?
An annual service ensures the heat pump is running efficiently. Manufacturer’s recommend that all air-to-air heat pumps/air conditioning systems are serviced annually by trained technicians; failure to do this may invalidate your warranty and cause damage to your equipment.
How often should I get my heat pump Serviced?
Most domestic air source heat pumps should be serviced once a year by a trained technician. Larger, and systems which are used more than average, require more regular servicing.
Due to Fgas requirements, a Split or Bi-block heat pump may need servicing more regularly. If you are unsure, please contact us and we will be able to guide you.
Depending on your installation, your annual heat pump service can include:
- Check all electrical connections on indoor and outdoor units
- Check the integrity of the pipework between the two units.
- Check the integrity of the pipework insulation
- Check the integrity of the condensate drains and test function
- Remove and clean Filters from the evaporating unit indoors
- Clean the condenser coil on the outdoor unit
- Complete a test run on full heating and cooling of the system
