Log Gasification Boilers are being installed in homes as they are considerably cheaper to run than those using fossil fuels. These boilers can heat a variety of properties – from a 3 bed houses to country mansion and also have a relatively short payback period of approximately 3 years. Heating with a log gasification boiler is a great way to be in harmony with nature.
Log gasification boilers extract almost all the energy available from the gases produced during the wood burning process, and can achieve 90% efficiency and internal temperatures as high as 1200°C.
Burning larger quantities of wood together in a highly efficient boiler releases less carbon dioxide into the environment and transfers more of the energy into heating and hot water.
As a result of their efficiency, some boilers have achieved Microgeneration Certificate Scheme (MCS) approval, a recognised mark of quality, therefore benefiting from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
