What is MCS?

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is an internationally recognised quality assurance scheme supported by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). MCS certifies microgeneration technologies used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources.

MCS Standards

MCS Technical Working Groups develop the MCS standards that are predominantly based on the international and European standards already in existence.

Installer Standards

Installer certification includes assessing the supply, design, installation and commissioning of renewable microgeneration technologies. Similar to the Gas Safe Register, the MCS logo gives installers a mark of quality and demonstrates to the consumer that the installation will be completed to the highest quality every time. Approved guidance and reference materials to be used with the standards can be found here.

Eco Installer Are MCS Qualified

MCS is an eligible requirement for the government’s financial incentives.

Eco Installer has achieved the highest standard required for accreditation through the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contacting (NICEIC) and our registration number is NIC3315, which we’ve held since 2011. Our MCS accreditation guarantees you the correct installation of solar PV, biomass and heat pumps whilst achieving the highest energy efficiency. And, when it’s completed one of the team will help you with any questions you may have with the official paperwork.
