Due to the rising cost of energy prices, Mr & Mrs Syms were looking for a way to reduce their energy bills. In addition, they were keen to investigate the suitability of a solar Photovoltaic (PV) system and had a good understanding of the Government incentive ‘the Feed-in Tariff’, (a tax-free payment paid to the registered owner of an MCS approved solar Photovoltaic (PV) installation for every kilowatt per hour generated).
Upon visiting the family home in St Ives, Roly carried out a site survey which calculated that 8 panels could be installed on the south facing roof and 8 panels could be installed on the east facing roof producing 4kW peak power. This would reduce their electricity bills by an estimated £790 per year if they used all the electricity generated.
Roly sent Mr and Mrs Syms the design and a quote for a solar system using Sunsolar Black Mono Crystalline Panels which carry a 25 Year Manufacturers product warranty and a 25 Year Linear performance guarantee. Mr & Mrs Syms were pleased with the information received and were happy to place an order with us.
As the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) was due to digress at the beginning of January 2016 we managed to move a few appointments around to enable them to receive the higher rate of 12.47p per kWh of energy produced.
The installation took our team just two days to complete. Following the installation Mike, our in house electrician installed a Solar iBoost which diverts spare energy from the PV array into domestic hot water for further savings.
Testimonial:
“We were very pleased that the weather held good on Friday morning (and throughout the installation days) and that the team were able to complete the work in very good time, leaving everything very tidy after what must have been a very early start.
We would just like to say a very big thank-you and record our appreciation for the way Sam and the team did our Solar PV installation: they have done a very professional job and have been so considerate, tidy, friendly and efficient throughout. We will have no hesitation in recommending your company for any heating, plumbing or renewables work (although I do appreciate that the nature of the Solar PV industry will see a ground shift with the revised Government support levels).
Meanwhile I trust that you all have a very successful end to 2015 and into 2016. I am sure we will call on you for other plumbing work we may have in future.
Very many thanks”. Robert
