Project details:
David was looking for a recommended installer of solar panels and a renewable heating system for his new build project when we were introduced to him through Midsummer Energy (Cambridgeshire based solar panel suppliers).
David had a clear idea of what he wanted to achieve but was concerned how the panels would look on the roof of his new home. David and Roly spent some time going through various designs, options and looking at some of our previous installations. Together David and Roly decided an in-roof solar system using Panasonic solar panels on a three-phase system would be the best solution.
As the house was being built to a Passive House standard with high levels of installation, David was keen to have a heating system which could run at a flow temperature of approximately 350C most of the time to prevent over heating of the house. Roly suggested a Panasonic 6kW mono-bloc Air Source Heat Pump to provide a constant low temperature along with a Sunamp heat battery to bring the temperature up when needed for showering, baths etc and to run the underfloor heating. The solar panels will provide the electricity to run the heat pump and will also charge the heat battery providing a very economical solution.
With the products confirmed and a clear plan in place our team started on site. Throughout the project we worked closely with David and other on site sub-contractors. Our team installed the 42 solar panels on the roof and fitted the solar inverters and batteries in the loft. The air source heat pump was installed at the rear of the property whilst the buffer tanks and other components were fitted in the purpose-built plant room.
Since completing the project, David has had Sonnious solar batteries installed to store excess energy produced by the solar panels. This energy can be used in the evenings when the sun has gone down helping David and his family be as self-sufficient as possible.
The house is now complete and looks stunning. David and his family moved in to the house over the summer and are enjoying low energy bills and an income from the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). We enjoyed working with David and his family throughout the project and wish them the best of luck in their new home.
Testimonial:
“Jo and I have been very pleased with the systems; the quality of work is excellent and the installers/contractors were polite and left the site clean and tidy.” David
